David Smith, Owner and Managing Director
Mr. Smith has over 20 years of experience in the areas of information systems governance, control, audit and security and in assessing and managing project risk. For the first 12 years of his career, David worked for major accounting firms and continues his focus on project and information technology governance as the owner and managing director of Ransom Smith Associates, LLC.
David began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. S.C.’s Computer Risk Management (CRM) practice and later was a Senior Manager in KPMG LLP’s Information Risk Management (IRM) practice. David led the Risk and Advisory Services (RAS) practice for a regional accounting firm with offices in Texas and on the West Coast. David recently completed an engagement with a “Big 4” firm serving as the program manager for a Strategic Growth Initiative (SGI) focused on developing organizational transformation services. He continues to provide quality assurance support to that firm’s Risk Consulting (RC) practice.
Tadd Lanham, Consulting Associate
Mr. Lanham has over 14 years of experience helping organizations improve processes, implement controls and manage risks. Prior to becoming a consultant in 2010, he worked in public accounting and industry providing information technology (IT) control advisory services and performing various audit and attestation engagements. Mr. Lanham has a Master in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin, is a licensed CPA in the state of Texas, and holds a variety of IT and project management related certifications.
